For the magazine ‘HISTORICAL DIVER’ No.6 Winter 1995 Siebe Gorman employee Steve James is asked: ‘What original publications did you use to compile the 9th edition?’
SJ: ‘The 9th edition is a combination of 2 previous editions, the 6th and the 8th. Due to today’s advancement in reproduction and scanning techniques, most of the pictures were taken from the 8th edition, with the 6th edition supplementing some of the weaker quality pictures in the 8th edition’
DD: This is very strange because the 8th edition is a very bad quality reproduced 7th edition. Using a good quality original 7th edition would have resulted in a much better quality reprint then the 9th edition turned out to be.
