Established in 1888 in New York Willis manufactured and sold boating supplies. In their own foundry they manufactured ( among other parts ) the ships bells to the US Navy. I have no hard evidence but it seems logical that Willis was the manufacturer of the shallow water diving helmets which became famous as the ‘Snead’ helmet ( also see the Snead chapter )
