Nick Toth / Tarpon Springs
In 2005 Leon Lyons and myself we made a trip to Tarpon Springs. Among other things we visited the workshop of Tarpon Springs diving helmet maker Nick Toth. Nick is still working in the shop which his grandfather Anthony left him, using his old tools to build the same diving helmets Anthony had built for decades. When you visit Florida then do visit Tarpon Springs and call Nick for an appointment: his phone number is shown at the sign of his workshop at one of the pictures below. When you want to buy a helmet from Nick then order several months ahead because he has a waiting list. Nick also has a website where more of the history is explained: www.divinghelmets.com
